Equinox

September 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment

It was a beautiful first day of autumn here in San Diego. Crisp and sunny along the coast with incredible light. My favorite time of year to be sure, and especially nice during an afternoon tea break (green kukicha).

Speaking of autumn and Japanese tea, this time of year in Kyoto looks pretty amazing too.

For all who keep asking about when the shop will be open, all I can say time and again is thank you for your patience. Everyone has been so encouraging, and we always appreciate your interest; it means a lot. Inspections have gone well, and we are indeed nearly there.

I hope your first day of fall (for those in the northern hemisphere) was a great one too. Thanks for checking in.

Ink on Paper

It has been far too long since the last post, but times have been busy! Believe it or not, we are on the countdown to opening our doors. All permits are signed off, sinks are finally going in. They tacked on a few more things for us to do as well (gotta love ‘em). So, please so keep your fingers crossed!

The quick snaps above show our shop card which we had printed a little while back. All of our print materials are done, and I have to give a big thanks to the crew at In to Ink. They are always a pleasure to work with and very serious about their craft. We had the cards letterpressed in the more subtle traditional style of this art form. I’ll always be a sucker for ink on nice paper.

We can’t tell you how excited we are to open, and we thank all of you for being so patient. People are signing up on the mailing list, emailing us about all things tea, and telling us how much they look forward to the shop being open. That means a lot to us; we appreciate all of the enthusiasm and can’t wait to share the experience with all of you.

More updates soon!

Thanks for checking in.
